During times of economic uncertainty - non-essential items such as school supplies are usually the first to go. Many children will go to school this year without any school supplies. If you would like to help - contact your local arm of The Salvation Army. They would love any donations you could provide. Put a smile on a kid's face ~ the first day of school is already an uneasy time for many kids ~ equip them with some supplies and alleviate the extra anxiety that accompanies going to school with nothing.
