Mutsy a wonderful company offers parents a wide variety in infant and toddler mobility options. The Trendy Mommy recently had the opportunity to "test drive" a Mutsy Spider Ocean (pictured above) and we must say that the ride is awesome! Extremely easy to push, fold up and store, light weight, and our little tester loved riding in it - we think because she felt so unrestricted in this great stroller. It is with great sadness that I must let you know that our Gal to Gal Foundation President, Dorit Shapiro, lost her brave battle to Stage IV breast cancer yesterday. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Dorit - I can tell you that she was an incredible woman who believed passionately in the purpose behind the Gal to Gal Foundation.
As you may know, this year's virtual walk hopes to raise $250,000 by asking each and every one of us to take 5 minutes and $5 and go to www.galtogalwalk.org and create your virtual walker. It is our hope to grant hundreds of wishes for Stage IV breast cancer patients and their families this holiday season. With your help we can!
Dorit's wish was not for herself. It was that we make this goal and that no woman living with Stage IV should feel alone in this journey. Please join Dorit's virtual self and all of us today in her honor!
Attached is a tribute to Dorit where you can listen to her own words spoken 1 week ago (!) as we kicked off this event. Unfortunately after this speech she took a turn for the worst. Recently we interviewed Pam Ginocchio & Melisa Fluhr, founders of Project Nursery, and they provided us with some fabulous tips to share with all you trendy mommies out there on the current decorating trends as well as some other nursery design tips. We'll share a few with you here on the blog - but you'll have to go to the actual interview on our site to see the rest and to see some of their fabulous room photographs!
1. Start small. Designing a nursery can be overwhelming. Start with a favorite piece of anything as your inspiration or jumping off point and design around it. Whether it be your ideal crib bedding or something as small and as simple as a meaningful piece of art.
2. Always add an area rug to finish the room even if the room has wall to wall carpet. Nothing is sweeter than a small, fluffy, white sheepskin rug for tummy time.
3. Complete the room with proper window treatments. While a little valance is cute, try window panels. It will add a bold design presence and make the room look and feel taller.
Take some time out to enjoy an afternoon tea party with your daughter. Take advantage of the cooler weather and set up your tea party in the backyard. We absolutely love this adorable tea set.
