Will You Be My Valentine?

In honor of tomorrow's special day...we have the following Valentine Cookie Pops recipe found on The Family Corner.

What you will need:
20 vanilla wafer cookies
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 6-ounce bag white chocolate chips
1 6-ounce bag semi sweet chocolate chips
colored candy sprinkles, red & white
pink and red gummy or sour patch bears
Cake decorating writer gel in green, pink, red, black, and white
1 tube each of white, red, and pink cake decorator frosting with flower tip
red food coloring
ice cream or lollipop sticks
wax paper or paper plates

Instructions: Spread peanut butter onto the flat side of the cookies. Place an ice cream stick into the peanut butter on half the cookies. Top with another cookie so the stick is sandwiched between the two cookies. See below.

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave, one minute, then in 20 second increments, stirring until smooth. Before melting, seperate the white chips into two bowls. After melting, add a few drops of red food coloring to one of the bowls of white chips to make pink chocolate.
Dip cookie pops in the melted chips, covering completely. Roll pops in red and white sprinkles and lay or stand on waxed paper or paper plates. Place in refrigerator to chill.

Decorate as you wish with the remaining items! ENJOY!

Planning Your Next Summer Vacation?

Not sure what to do this year for the summertime family vacation? Check out this book, "500 Places To Take Your Kids Before They Grow Up", by Holly Hughes. It's a nifty little book that as the title states has 500 neat places that appeal to kidos and those young at heart. Each of the 500 entries (places) has age ratings, nearby kid-friendly and fun hotels, as well as service details about the place. The book is even equipped with two indexes to make planning your next trip a snap - a geographical index (could be useful if you're vising Great Aunt Louise in Montana but want to make the trip up there fun for the kids) as well as a specialty index (good for types of trip - like amusement park or camping or museum or beach or mountain). The book retails for $19.99 on Frommers.com --- but you can get it for $12.77 at Wal-mart.

Super Trendy Super Tuesday

As this election year is proving to be quite the race...why not show your support in 2008 with one of these SUPER cute T's for the tot in your life. Emily Allyn, a unique clothing line features ridiculously fun designs! Check out the newly created designs, 'Little Democrat' and 'Little Republican'.

The Emily Allyn clothing line seeks to play off the adorable and humorous names we give to our kids – Peanut, Monkey, Sweet Pea, Crabby Cakes, Silly Goose, and many more. Their site is fun and interactive - pick your shirt type (onesie, short sleve, long sleve, etc.) then select your design and size...super easy and super cool.

Check out their site and see for yourself - we've been told that the line is super soft and the ink used on the shirts won't crack like normal screenprinting sometimes does. YEA! for that!!

Lunch Shopping Spree

We've been tracking this site for awhile now and although we can't look into the future and see what you will see when you click on the link to their site...we think it's cool enough to dish about here.

So, what is it that we're talking about...it's called Delight. It's a cool site that features a new item each day at noon for a great price. The catch is they only have a limited amount of this one particular item - so if you snooze - you lose.

They also have some neat stuff that they keep "in stock" all the time - so don't forget to check out those items as well....but what we really love is the daily deal at noon....very fun!

Close to your Heart

So how many times have you run into an old friend unexpectedly at the store or whatever...and when asked if you have any photos of your little darling with you - you think to yourself, "Man! why did I clear out the "clutter" in my purse yesterday?" and have to admit to your long lost friend that you're a "horrible mom" and don't have any on you...

Well - we've found a nifty solution for you...wear your sweetie around your neck and close to your heart. Check out the cool necklaces made by Kathy Lo Rocks. Our absolute favorite is the Medium Photo Necklace @ $68. What's even cooler is that she makes her necklaces reversible. You can either send in two photos of baby cakes or pick a pattern for the 'back' of your necklace from her super cool pattern page. FUN FUN!

Table Toppers

With cold and flu season quickly approaching we thought we'd help a mommy out with some simple tips to help reduce baby's contact w/ germs.

We recommend the Sesame Street Table Toppers because 1) they keep your kids hands off the table that you can't be sure was disinfected from the last family that ate at the restaurant you're eating at...and 2) they can keep little munchkin occupied while you are able to quickly peruse the menu and decide on your meal for the evening. Just remember to ask every once in a while, "Where's the ball?" "Where's Elmo?" "Where's Cookie Monster?" "Point to the green" and so on. Lots of stores carry these oh so fun little stick on mats - we did a quick search and found them on amazon.com - 50 for $18.99.

Tip - Sanitize

The following instructions on sanitizing were found on www.ehow.com.

Step One
Keep two or three different sets of toys and alternate their cleaning and sanitizing. Most babies have plenty of toys to choose from, so taking them in and out to clean and sanitize won't be a problem.

Step Two
Put the toys you wish to clean into warm soapy water and let soak for about 5 minutes. Regular dish soap is fine.

Step Three
Scrub toys after soaking to loosen dirt and grime. Germs can cling to surfaces, so scrubbing is important.

Step Four
Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residues.

Step Five
Make a sanitizing solution of ¼ cup of household bleach to one gallon of water. Diluted bleach is considered safe for cleaning children's toys since chlorine evaporates quickly.

Step Six
Dip toys in the bleach solution and place in the drying rack to air dry. You can also soak the toys in the bleach solution all at once and then place in the drying rack.

That's what I'd be singing if I were a toddler/kido and had these funky rain boots to play in the rain in! Super cute and super trendy, found at Modern Tots. The best part about these boots is they are fairly reasonable at $27....and yes, they even come in blue stripes for boys.

Moooooooo

This fun barnyard plush animal set even makes sounds. We really like this one because you can carry all the animals in the barn. Makes it a great toy to take on the road...if you can handle the farm animal sounds on your trip to see grandma, that is. We found this cute toy at Genius Babies.

Need a UNIQUE baby shower gift?

A friend of mine makes these oh so sweet designs....and I just had to let you guys know about her and her work. All you have to do is give her a name and she can write it out for you on some really cool paper. Take a close look at each individual letter...they are the words of a Bible verse. LOVE IT! What a sweet and precious gift for that special little one in your life. You choose the verse, the paper, and let her know the name and she will create this one of a kind gift for you. Check out, In Jesus Name Designs for some more information.

This is not a night dress...

Although this dress is made out of pillowcases....it's definitely too cute for sleepin' in. Boutique Mia sells this pattern as well as many others. What is even cooler than the print and design of this simple little dress...is that it can be worn twice. What I mean by that is your 18 month old can wear it as a dress....you can pack it away for 3 years and then when she hits 5 years old you can bust it out again as a shirt....PERFECT!
